These Terms and Conditions govern your use of Reader’s Shack and any purchases you make through readershack.com. By using this site, you agree to these terms.
Reader’s Shack is operated by Hayshack Enterprises, based in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
1. Using This Site
You must be at least 18 years old to make purchases on Reader’s Shack. By completing a purchase, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
You agree to use this site lawfully and not to engage in any activity that disrupts, damages, or interferes with the service or other users.
2. Digital Products
All products sold on Reader’s Shack are digital ebooks in EPUB and/or PDF format. There are no physical goods.
Upon successful payment, you will receive a download link by email. This link allows you to download your purchased file(s). Download links may expire after a period — if yours has expired, contact us and we’ll re-send it.
3. Licence to Use
When you purchase an ebook, you receive a personal, non-exclusive licence to read and enjoy that book on your own devices. You may not:
- Resell, redistribute, or share the file with others
- Remove or alter copyright notices or author attribution
- Use the content for commercial purposes without the author’s written permission
- Upload the file to any file-sharing service or public platform
4. Refunds
Because ebooks are digital goods and are delivered immediately on purchase, all sales are generally final.
Exceptions:
- If you received a faulty, corrupted, or incorrect file, contact us and we will replace it or issue a refund
- If a refund is required by applicable consumer protection law, we will comply

5. Pricing and Payment
Prices are shown in USD. Payment is processed by our third-party payment provider. We do not store your card details.
We reserve the right to change prices at any time. The price displayed at the time of your purchase is the price you pay.
6. Account Registration
You may browse Reader’s Shack without an account. To make purchases, you may be asked to create an account or check out as a guest.
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
7. Intellectual Property
All content on readershack.com — including the site design, logos, and any original text — is the property of Hayshack Enterprises or its content providers and is protected by copyright.
Books sold on Reader’s Shack remain the intellectual property of their respective authors. Purchase of an ebook does not transfer copyright or any rights beyond the personal reading licence described above.
8. Disclaimer
Reader’s Shack is a marketplace. The books available for purchase are written by independent authors. We do not edit or vet the content of individual books for accuracy, completeness, or suitability.
Book descriptions and previews are provided by authors and are intended to be accurate, but Reader’s Shack does not warrant that they are free from error.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hayshack Enterprises is not liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the site or any purchased content
- Technical failures, service interruptions, or data loss beyond our reasonable control
10. Privacy
Your use of this site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the site after any update means you accept the revised Terms. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by South African law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Reader’s Shack are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa.
