Buying & Downloading
How do I buy a book?
Browse the catalogue, click the book you want, and add it to your cart. Complete checkout with your payment details. As soon as payment goes through, you’ll get a download link by email — usually within a minute.
What formats are the books in?
Books are available as EPUB and/or PDF, depending on what the author has provided. Most books include both. The available formats are shown on each product page.
What devices can I read on?
Our ebooks are DRM-free and work on virtually any device:
- Kindle — send the EPUB to your Kindle email address, or open in the Kindle app on iOS or Android
- Kobo — copy the EPUB directly to your device via USB or the Kobo desktop app
- iPad / iPhone — open in Apple Books or any EPUB reader app
- Android phone or tablet — use Moon+ Reader, ReadEra, or any EPUB-compatible app
- Desktop or laptop — read the PDF directly, or use Calibre (free) for EPUB
I didn’t get my download link. What do I do?
Check your spam or junk mail folder — automated emails sometimes land there. If it’s not there, email us at support@hayshack.co.za with your order number and we’ll resend the link.
My download link has expired. Can I get a new one?
Yes — just email us at support@hayshack.co.za with your order details and we’ll sort it out.
Can I read on multiple devices?
Yes. Because our files are DRM-free, you can copy them to as many of your own devices as you like. The licence is for your personal use.
Orders & Payments
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept major credit and debit cards via our secure payment provider. Payment details are processed by our provider — we never see or store your card number.
Can I get a refund?
Because ebooks are delivered digitally and immediately, all sales are generally final. If you received a faulty or incorrect file, contact us at support@hayshack.co.za and we’ll fix it or refund you.
I was charged but didn’t get a download link. Help?
Email us at support@hayshack.co.za right away with your order number or the email you used at checkout. We’ll investigate and get your book to you.
About the Books
Who writes the books on Reader’s Shack?
Every book in our catalogue is written by an independent author. Reader’s Shack is not a publishing house — we’re a marketplace that lets authors sell their books directly to readers.
Are the books available in print?
Not through Reader’s Shack — we’re digital-only. If a print edition exists, the author may sell it elsewhere, but we only offer ebook downloads here.
Do you have a mobile app?
Not yet — but the site works well on mobile browsers, and your downloaded files work with any reading app on your phone or tablet.
